Calico Mermaid Regular Store Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 10:00am-4:00pm Saturday 10:00am - 2:00pm Closed Sunday & Monday Calico Mermaid is Porterville's quality quilt fabric shop, opened in April 2011 by Georgia and Richard Goode. You'll find lots of inspiration & temptation here in books, patterns, tools, classes, and fabric by Studio E, Blank Quilting, Henry Glass, Benartex, Moda, Free Spirit, Northcott, and Windham Fabrics. Stafford’s Chocolates is just a few doors up the street from the Mermaid. There you’ll find amazing freshly made chocolates as well as specialty coffee & tea. The Palace Kitchen + Craft Bar, open for lunch & dinner, is a few doors down the street. One block away & across the street is The Vault Bar & Grill, where you’ll find custom burgers & salads with an extensive craft beer selection. Subway, always a good quick sandwich choice, is also on our block. |

Bear Paw Quilts and More Monday through Saturday: 10:00am-5:00pm Closed Sunday Bear Paw Quilts More is your mountain area quilt shop, in Oakhurst, CA. Oakhurst is a great vacation spot. We are near the south entrance of Yosemite National Park and down the road from beautiful Bass Lake. Our shop has been a local staple for decades, but re-opened on August 1, 2019 by Maria Ciccarelli. We are known for our amazing quilting quality cotton fabric, flannels and BATIKS, BATIKS, BATIKS! All in a variety of a quilter’s favorite brands. We carry your regularly needed notions, as well as some locally made, “one of a kind” notions. Let’s not forget the patterns and books too.
